Recognising this distinction has enabled us to frame our projects, perfect in eliciting a workable budget from a customer and then working to expectations; abuse if without.
The HeART in Revival

The meaning of fun is sometimes very heart-wrenching. It is rooted in what you have or didn’t have as a child. It ignores what inspires you, if only to spite you. So you keep listening to your heart, lead or gold.
Last month I made the long box above to house three rings we made. It is now far away. So many times I was tempted to just leave the rings in ordinary ‘professional’ boxes, then I remember I first liked to make things through paper and scissors. I don’t know how to ‘professional’ with ‘warm’.
Highways

A project involving three rings. This is the first. The face is the size of two knuckles.
For a woman. From her husband. By us. Me. I keep replaying this scene.
This project is very exciting. Because it is one of those projects I get to do what I can feel, and get to do it like that.
Yet every time I photograph the work-in-progress, I am a little astonished.
